Last of the Red Hot Lovers Opens May 14 At Center Stage Community Theatre
Neil Simon’s classic comedy Last of the Red Hot Lovers comes to Center Stage Community Theatre starting Friday, May 14.
Opening May 14 Last of the Red Hot Lovers will run for three weekends: May 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29 at 7:30 pm and May 16, 23, and 30 at 2:30pm. Please call 765.894.5587 for reservations.
Set in New York City in 1969, the play follows Barney Cashman, a man in the throes of a midlife crisis. Wondering if the Sexual Revolution, and perhaps life itself, has passed him by, Barney strives to step out of his seemingly boring existence and experience some adventure. We see him over the course of several months meeting three very different women in his mother’s studio apartment – none of whom is his wife!
The cast is composed of four actors with impressive resumes. Two are Center Stage newcomers -- Larry Adams (Art at Carmel Community Theatre and Random Acts with Off Main Street Players) as Barney and Tanya Haas (Blithe Spirit andRumors at Carmel Community Players) as Bobbi Michelle. CSCT veterans Rae Myers (Gingerbread Lady and Greater Tuna) plays Elaine, and Jeane Shepherd (Twice Around the Park and The Mousetrap) is Jeanette.
This talented group is directed by Laurie Atwater (The Fantasticks, Almost, Maine). Scenic design is by award-winning set designer David Wines, who is also producer. Lighting design and special effects are by Maew Houston.
